Q: How do I Download the INFANT CALM™ CD to my computer?

A: Upon ordering the Digital Download CD you’ll receive and "order receipt" at the email address you supplied when you placed your order. The email will contain a special link to the file that contains the INFANT CALM™ Digital CD. You'll have approximately 96 hours [4 days] to download the file before the special link, you were sent, expires.

Q: How do I un-zip the file once I download it?

A: Win-Zip [PC] or Stuff-It [Mac] will do the trick. Both programs should have *FREE* versions you can download.

Q: After I download the file how do I find it on my computer?

A: When you click the links to download the tracks, your computer should ask you where you want to save the files. Take note where you’ve chosen to save them so you can find them easily. If you can’t find them try to run a SEARCH on your computer for INFANT CALM™, that should help you locate them.

Q: How long will it take to download the INFANT CALM™ CD?

A: The time it takes to download the CD depends on the speed at which you are connected to the Internet. On a, dial-up, 56k modem it may take as long as an hour to download the files [68MB] depending on your connection speed. If you’re using broadband, like a high-speed cable or DSL connection, the download shouldn’t take more than 10-20 minutes to complete.

Q: What kind of digital audio files are included with the download?

A: All the tracks to the Digital Download CD are in the MP3 format.

Q: I've downloaded and unzipped the file but the audio files aren't MP3s, why?

A: They ARE MP3s, we promise. Sometimes certain computers can't use file names that exceed a certain amount of characters... To fix the problem, select the files, one at a time, by clicking on the file name and appending '.mp3' to the end of the file name. That should do the trick.

Q: Can you explain what an MP3 is?

A: An MP3 is a portable digital audio file. It’s an audio file that uses a special compression to reduce its file size while keeping the audio quality intact. It can be played in numerous players, (i.e. Computer, ipod, cd player, etc.)

Q: What do I need to play the MP3 files?

A: A FREE MP3 player like WIN-AMP [PC] or iTUNES [PC and MAC] so you can play the files on your computer.

Q: Can I burn the MP3 files onto a CD?

A: Yes! Most computers now come standard with CD Burners.

Q: Do I need to burn a certain kind of CD to play it on a radio or in my car?

A: Most home and car stereos can’t play MP3 files unless they can specifically read DATA CDs. Most new stereos can read Data CDs but not many people own them. The safest route is to burn an AUDIO DISC...

For use in any standard CD player, Burn the MP3 files onto a standard CD-R [writeable CD] as an AUDIO DISC. The MP3s should automatically be converted as the CD burner creates the disc.

NOTE: If you try to create and AUDIO DISC using a CD-RW [re-writable CD] it might not work because re-writable CDs tend to not play in standard stereos. It’s best to use a CD-R for AUDIO DISCs.

Q: Why can’t I play my burned copy of the INFANT CALM Digital CD in my car?

A: Make sure you use a standard CD-R and that you choose to burn an AUDIO DISC, not a data/MP3 CD.

Q: Is there artwork I can print when I burn a CD?

A: Yes! Included in the zip file is a full-color, high-resolution jpeg of the cover artwork! All you have to do is print it out and trim off the white edges! If the cover prints larger than 4.75"x4.75" read below to learn how to correct the issue...

Q: How do I get the artwork to print correctly?

A: For some reason PC owners will see the high-resolution artwork, 300dpi (dots per inch), as nearly a full-screen image. When printing, as well, you'll notice it prints full page. Now we can't explain why it's not printing correctly but we have found a way around the issue...

Create a NEW document using Microsoft WORD, then choose INSERT on the menu atop the screen. Now choose PICTURE and, lastly, pick FROM FILE... find where you saved the artwork and choose it. Now, when you print the image it will be the correct dimensions for a CD Jewel case! (Proper dimensions are 4.75"x4.75") **This method also works well for MAC users!

Other ways of printing the artwork correctly are: Opening it in a photo editing application like Adobe Photoshop, since Photoshop understands 300dpi images; Placing it into programs like Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Page Maker, Quark Xpress etc...

Q: Will the INFANT CALM Digital CD sound like the actual CD?

A: Yes!

Q: Who can I contact if I'm having technical difficulties?

A: If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please email us at prerecords@prerecords.com.  We will try to respond ASAP.
